US aerospace giant Boeing Co. forecasts that airlines worldwide will purchase of nearly 30,000 new planes in the next two decades amid increasing demand for air travel. Demand for new aircraft over the next 20 years will be led by low-cost carriers seeking more environmentally friendly planes.

Ryanair Holdings, the biggest low-fare airline in Europe, announced to close three routes and cut six others to make way for eight new services. Ryanair said it will close the three routes in coming November, from Shannon to Bournemouth, Lodz in Poland, and Rome.

Computer giant Apple on 30 May started selling music ‘free of anti-copying software’ at its iTunes online store, stripping away from copyright protection imposed by the record companies. Apple launched ‘iTunes Plus’ with a menu of EMI Group music including songs from Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, John Coltrane, Pink Floyd, and Paul McCartney.

The US economy slowed to a 0.6 percent growth pace in the first quarter of 2007, according to a government report. Gross domestic product was revised down from April’s estimate of 1.3 percent and was the slowest pace in four years, the US Commerce Department report showed.

The Bank of Scotland (BoS) apologised to its customers after the mortgage details of over 60,000 customers went missing from the post office. The management reassured customers that these data will not get in hands of any third party and said, it is almost impossible for any financial fraud to be committed as a result of the incident.

Argentina reached an agreement with Spain to pay off US$982.5 million debt against them to Spain over the next six years. Argentine President Nestor Kirchner said that the Spanish government made a gesture by giving Argentina loans in difficult times and now Argentine government will repay this debt as it should.
