Venezuelan students took the streets of the capital on 30 May for the third consecutive day, marching in protest against closure of Radio Caracas Television (RCTV). The protestors demanded the People's Ombudsman secure the immediate release of 182 students arrested during previous protests in Caracas and other cities.

Dutch Royal Dutch Airlines KLM passed a bad week. Firstly, a trade union representing flight attendants at KLM threatened strikes over ill labour conditions resulting in a situation where, the Dutch arm of Air France KLM and unions were at odds over easing the workload of flight attendants.

A court in Beijing sentenced the State Food and Drug Administration director to death for taking bribes and dereliction of duty. Zheng, aged 63, received the death penalty on the graft charge and 7 years of imprisonment for the charge of dereliction of duty.

The management reassured customers that these data will not get in hands of any third party and said, it is almost impossible for any financial fraud to be committed as a result of the incident.

A federal court in Brazil indicted two US pilots and four Brazilian air traffic controllers for manslaughter-related charges. Judge Murilo Mendes accepted the charges filed by a prosecutor last week (May 2007) in a federal court in Sinop, a small city near the Amazon jungle site where a Boeing jetliner in 2006 crashed after a collision with an executive jet. All 154 people aboard the jetliner died, while the executive jet landed safely.

One of the tree men suspected of being involved in 22 May’s deadly bank robbery on the South Side, Chicago will face federal charges soon, reported the authorities. One of the robbers is currently being investigated as the shooter of teller Tramaine Gibson, 23, who was killed after refusing to open the bank vault.
