A student sparked a terror alert in Bulgaria after he borrowed a secret service in-ear radio from his government agent father for cheating in his exams.

Georghe Dimitrov, 21, made the mistake of using the tiny device that can be hidden in the ear. Timing was wrong as he used it in the middle of a top security alert.

The agents working undercover with similar devices suddenly found their lines blocked as a stream of technical data on vital capacities and enhanced expiratory volumes flooded into their earpieces. The source of the calls was quickly traced and armed cops stormed Sofia's Medical University, going from class to class until they found where the cheating student was copying down the data from a friend hidden in the school toilets.

Georghe Dimitrov was sitting an exam in physiology but ended up being dragged from the school in handcuffs and was then locked up for 24 hours while police investigated how he came to posses the device. He was told that the arrest was for blocking communications. He was also told he had failed his exam.
